Another crib skirt question

Does a crib look stupid or way too plain without a crib skirt?

Our matching ones are $60 each and i would have to buy 2.   I am SO mad i didn't just buy the bedding set!!!!

I think it's personal preference.  I want a crib skirt to add color, but I don't think it would necessarily look bad if I didn't have one.

  • I didn't get one.  I think it's a nice-to-have item for decoration, but if you buy all the nice-to-haves, you'll spend too much.  So this was one item I decided not to get.  I also didn't both with a bedding set, because the bumper and the quilt aren't recommended because of SIDS.  So you spend all this money and you can only use the sheet and skirt anyway.

I think the crib looks just fine without the skirt - and the mobile is the only thing the baby will look at anyway.

  • Before we decided on a bedding set, I did this on our crib.  With Hobby Lobby's 50% off sale, I could 3 spools of ribbon for $6 and it looked SO CUTE.

ETA: Here's a [really dark] picture of what I did.

  • I bought 2 yards of fabric from Walmart and used it as a skirt if you want something cheap
  • I got one on Amazon for 15$....I wasn't about to spend big bucks on one!

I do think it depends on the the crib...I just liked the way it looked on mine.
