how much did you guys gain in your first trimester. i'm almost 12 weeks and i have gained 15 pounds!!! none of my jeans fit i can't diet because that's not healthy. i'm very confused.
I am 9 weeks in now. pre-pregnancy weight 110 lbs. I am at around 111 lbs now. So not much of weight gain really. I do feel super fat and bloated by the late afternoon, and i swear i look 5 months pregnant in the evenings. But then in the mornings I am back to normal again.
Have you been excercising? As long as you're not straining yourself excercise is perfectly healthy and recommended the whole pregnancy. Some women run marathons while pregnant.
I'm trying my best to put on weight but it's hard to do with hyperemesis. Even with Zofran food is still pretty blehhhh. Good luck to you though on keeping your weight gain steady.
I am almost 6 weeks and feel like a moose already! You are not alone. 10 lbs have gone on and my jeans are killing me to wear them This is making me want to scream because I am trying to keep my prego belly under wraps for a little while longer, especially at work. And no, I am not eatting like a "moose", just alot of smallish meals through the day, and sweets are kind of repulsing me. After my check up next week if all is good me and my dog will be taking daily walks for excercise. If the morning sickness kicks in, then you may lose a few lbs like I did with my first child (whose 21 btw). All pregnancies are different so just do what you feel comfortable with, eat good, and move your body when you can. Good Luck!

This is me exactly. I fluctuate between 111-112 but I'm normally 109-110. Last night when I was running though it felt way more comfortable to just stick the blump out and I swear I looked 5 months! Even though it's only 2 pounds or so for me some of my pants are super tight due to the bloat.
I haven't gained anything but most people gain about 5 lbs in the first trimester. You are right that you can't diet (and obviously I have no idea what you are eating) but you can always eat more healthy choices like lean protein, fruit, veggies and lots of water.. They want most women to gain 25-35 lbs through the pregnancy so as long as you aren't gaining more than 1lb/week from here on out, you'd be within that range.. My last pregnancy I had only gained 2 lbs at 16 weeks and ended up gaining 40 lbs total so everyone gains at different times..
Eating healthy and exercising are great ideas and I'm sure we'd all like to follow them, but when your food aversions are many and you are too tired to get off the couch how is everyone doing? I keep telling myself to go for a walk after work and can barely stay awake enough for my drive home! Luckily I'm finding some healthy foods that taste okay but I was used to eating super healthy prior to PG, lots of veggies and salads every day. I couldn't eat a salad right now for anything, the thought alone makes me sick. I have gained about 5 lbs so far.
Trust me, as someone who gained 60 lbs during my last pregnancy, you do NOT want to gain too much weight! It's SOO hard to get off. I would say to start trying to eat 5-6 mini-meals a day and PLAN THEM so you make the healthiest choices you can. Obviously, if the only thing that will stay down in mac n cheese, have a LITTLE of that, but see if you can add some fruit or something else too.
Now that Im pregnant again, I asked my midwife the calories that she recommends per day so I don't gain like crazy again, and she said between 1800 - 2000. Obviously the higher end in the last trimester. Also, even just a 20 minute daily stroll around the block is better than nothing. I like the saying "no matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone on the couch!"
During my first pregnancy I gained 50+ but so much of it was water weight that it came off pretty fast. I didn't gain at all in the first trimester, I started getting swollen around 5 months in and just expanded from there. I also had an almost 10lb baby.
This time, I've gained 3lbs and I'm 11 weeks in. By the evening I feel like a freaking pregnant horse ready to drop my foal any second.
I am 13 weeks and I gained 12 pounds!!! My clothes don't fit either! Get the belly band! It's great! I actually lost 2 pounds this week bc I started walking my puppy for 30-45 minutes about 5 days a week. It's been a few weeks that I have been walking her. I wasn't trying to lose weight but the walking is helping me feel good. Try to stay active. I know it's hard! I am so tried when I get home from work! I also started buying alot of fruit to snack on. Good luck!
I am 12 weeks and have not gained any weight yet. I still have a good 15 to 20 extra lbs hanging around from my first pregnancy and I really hope to keep my weight gain down this time arround
