question about newborn poop

 I've heard that I don't have to dunk/ spray newborn poop if LO is breastfed. What about if they get formula or a mix of formula and BM? I'm using prefolds and flats at first. They were dirt cheap and will get used for cleaning when LO is done with them so I don't care about staining. I do care that they get clean enough. Will I need to dunk or no?

    My LO is EBF so I can't speak from personal experience but I've heard that formula poop is fine to throw in the washing machine without a rinse too.

    EBF/EFF/or any mixture of the two is water soluble and can just go straight into the washing machine.
