So, that just convinced me that I'm definitely not putting my kids' pics back in my siggy. And, I'm considering changing my screen name.
Am I overreacting? Given that people are fired from schools for all sorts of things they post on FB, I'm not sure I want any of my posts here (which, I do understand are technically public) to appear in an MSNBC article.
ETA: Note that if you click on the actual screen shot in the article, it takes you right to the boards. ![]()
Re: Holy crap. Did you guys see this?
wow, I don't think you're overreacting at all. changing your screen name, maybe - but removing the pictures, not at all....
not overreacting at all..its a reality of posting to a public message board...although I do find it really odd that MSNBC would dig up and post something like that...must have been a slow news day
"Here's what random people on message boards and twitter have to say"
I agree. Although I could see something like that happening here, where we discuss a lot of current events (especially IF related). For example, discussion of the woman that was fired from her Catholic school for pursuing IVF.
The only reason I would change my SN is because it is very close to my real name... hmmm.
Not to say it is related to the msnbc article, but I think, generally speaking, TB has been doing a lot more lately to drive traffic to the message boards... Be it the way the site is coded so the boards show up in google searches or being proactive with those FB/twitter buttons and the pinterest boards. It just seems to be a trend.... I necessarily mind, but I will definitely be keeping the kids out of my siggy and be more careful about posting anything even remotely identifying.
Because we're fancy like that.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I am assuming she was not, because in the thread she stated that she was hesitant to open the link because she wasn't sure what was quoted.
