My favorites to read are the "Llama, Llama" books, "The Little Blue Truck", and "The going to Bed Book". I like reading rhyming books.
Carter's favorites are "Brown Bear, Brown Bear", "The Icky Sticky Frog", "That's Not My Puppy", and "Ding Dong! Elmo's Here!". I know this because he'll bring these books to me or DH to read All.The.Time. And if you put them in the bottom of his basket or back on the shelf, he'll dig these specific ones out and bring them to me.
I love reading him anything Sandra Boynton and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? Apparently I like books with rhymes. Ev of course doesn't care for any of those books and will only allow me to read Hop on Pop and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
DD's favorite is Dear Zoo. It's the last book we read before bed each night. She has started wanting to pull down the flaps to reveal the animals. So cute!

He loves "Blue Hat, Green Hat." When we get to the last turkey on the page, I always say, "OOPS, Silly turkey!" And he cracks up. It was also one of my favorite books to read with my preschoolers when I was working.
Farm Animals by Brian Wildsmith. We do the Spanish version, and I love that I'm getting to read to her in Spanish and she loves when I do the animal noises.
DD's favorites are Chugga Chugga Choo Choo (seriously, she loves that book- it's usually the only one she'll sit through for the whole thing, and we read it at least twice a day), Moo Baa Lala, Dear Zoo, and Tails (a *great* touch and feel book).
Em loves "where is God". She gets to open little flaps and loves it and laughs at the animals behind it every time. It rhymes, and I have it memorized, so I like it too.

Oh, you reminded me that I need to get Dear Zoo! Love that book!
DS loves any pop-up book or any book with lift up flaps or textures. Any of Matthew Van Fleet's books are fabulous, such as Tails, Dog, Moo, Alphabet, and Heads. His favorite pop-ups are a series from Dorling Kindersley and are called Pop-Up Peek-a-Boo and have topics such as Farm, Playtime, and Things that Go.
In general, I love any book. I am a reading teacher and probably buy way more books that I should through school book orders and sales in the faculty room. I love to read him nursery rhymes because they remind me of reading with my grandma and grandpa when I was little.

We do the same thing. I'm hoping LO will pick up Spanish. My dad brought a few books back from MX (he goes to Guadalajara every few weeks) and we started reading them to LO. My family also speaks to him in Spanish. Dh is Italian. I grew up with four languages in our home- English, Spanish, Tagalog and Japanese, but I only speak Spanish fluently (obvi English as well).
Re: Favorite book to read to LO?
"Where, Oh Whear, Is Huggle Buggle Bear" I don't know the author, but we read it most nights before bed. I call V my little Huggle Buggle.
