This is something you must see!

I would have lost my mind if I saw anyone doing that to my child!

  • Yeah, I'd be sympathetic to the fact that she wants another baby, but this is unacceptable!  Don't try to "nurse" someone's baby.  And, the poor baby was probably so confused and frustrated that nothing was coming out!
  • That is very, very strange.  Like some of the posters in that thread, I think the SIL needs mental help.
  • Not cool. And I would suggest that maybe the SIL is not entirely balanced mentally/emotionally.

  • Holy hell, I would be HORRIFIED if I walked in on something like that.  I would have taken my baby immediately without a word (because I wouldn't want to freak baby out), gone home and told the H, and then figured out how we could get SIL some serious mental help.  That is just not ok. Ever.

  • This seriously creeped me out, and made me think of the movie the Hand that Rocks the Cradle. (please tell me I'm not the only one old enough to remember this movie.)

  • Ummmmm what??? Holy Hell, I would have probably been too stunned to slip out in the moment. I'm kind of too stunned just reading it to even think about what I would do.

  • That is just not right. I would also tell DH and let him handle it, but making sure to also let him know she needs help.

That lady needs some help. That is crazy. I am sure the SIL knew that she could not actually feed the baby, but she just wanted to use her boob to passify the baby? That's not cool.

This movie is the first thing that came to my mind when I read it. Obviously the girl is off her rocker!! If that were me and my babies, I would tell the world, embarrass the sh!t out of her, & NEVER let her near my kids again!! There are some sick people in this world...

    This.

My neighbor across the street had a little girl a month after I had DS.  I was holding her DD and she lunged for my clothed chest for milk.  I explained that the milk was not for her and was for DS.  It was still an awkward feeling even though it was child-initiated.

When I was pregnant I asked a nursing friend what nursing felt like. She pinched me and let go and said it was something like that.

This SIL needs some metal help.

  • OMG I would FLIP out!!!!

I get why she did what she did but I don't understand how she thought that was okay??

Oh, and I would definitely tell DH what happened!

  • Oh wow... that is so wrong.

I too immediately thought of the hand that rocks the cradle

I would do like others in that thread suggested and tell MH in a way that I was concerned for his sister's mental health cause there is something seriously wrong with her.

  • OMFG I think I'd have killed her. She definitely would NOT be allowed to watch LO ever again, at least not alone! That made my jaw drop.

  • While this would definitely creep me out, there are some who recommend letting babysitters "nurse" babies if they need comfort. I was at a LLL conference this past weekend, and the presenter told a story of a 52 year old grandmother who babysat her grandchild. She would let the baby "nurse" for comfort. After a few months of this, she started lactating! Everyone in the room thought it was 100% normal.

Wow!  I didn't even know that was possible.

My first reaction to that story:  WTF?!

Ok I am sorry but that is a little to crunch green to me.
