TTC After a Loss

Holy huge spider!!!! (obviously NTTCALR)

Holy freaking crap... I came home from a late night with some co-leader friends from my youth ministry @ Steak & Shake. Got home around 12:30am, found said huge a$$ spider, finally got the cajones to kill it, and it somehow got away and behind a cabinet. DH is OOT, but I thought (and still think) it might've been a brown recluse, so I called him, even though he was fast asleep. Ended up calling his best friend who is a night owl and lives 20 minutes away, & he came and killed it with wasp spray and then squashed it.

It now resides in the sewer system. BLECH!!! I HATE spiders!!!!!! Esp poisonous ones!! Wish I'd saved it in a container to show my pest guy (I'm calling him tomorrow!!!!)

  • *shivers*  Glad you got him!  We had wolf spiders growing up and I almost rolled over onto one about 4" in diameter (including the legs, not just the body).  Those suckers jump!  My sisters and I screamed for dad who circled it for a bit before stomping it.  Even he was a bit afraid of this one!!

  • ick!

I feel you.. During the spring/summer I get HUGE wolf spiders around my house.. probably as big as my hand and I kinda like scoot around then not to disturb them.. I'm fine with them being outside.

BUT.. the other night there was one in my HOUSE! in my living room! and then it ran under my couch where I was sitting! I freaked out and called C (didn't know who else to call.. didn't really think that one thru well lol) who I knew was on his way home and would be passing my house to get home.. Luckily he wanted to be a nice ex husband and came and killed it for me.. then had a good laugh at me being perch on the edge of the couch when he got there..

ugh the joys of living alone out in the country.. lol

I hate spiders, but my former best friend is deathly afraid of them. One time when I was with her, in her car, she was driving on the main road that goes through our town. Usually this road is super busy, but it was kind of late at night in the middle of the week. She saw what she thought was a spider on the inside of the windshield and stopped the car in the middle of the road...screamed and ran out of the car. I of course didn't see anything, of course that may have been because I was laughing so hard I was crying. She called her brother who just happened to be around the corner. There was no spider.

I never saw one that big, butI HATE wolf spiders (actually all spiders) but wolf spiders are the worst, even though I know one biting me won't kill me, just because of the jumping. You think you've got the sucker cornered and then it jumps. Growing up out in the country on a farm, I saw spiders all the time in the barn, smokehouse, carshed, but I never got used to them. Yucky!

It was by far the biggest we had ever seen... at least 2x the next biggest.  And thankfully haven't seen another one since.  whew!  I agree... the jumping freaked me out too!
