Yesterday: 50 million sperm post wash w/ 93% motility
Today: 28 million sperm, same motility
The doctor did the procedure yesterday and it was a breeze. He did say I had a tilted cervix but he was in and out within 2 minutes no problem. Today though, was a different story.
The nurse did it this time (doc was at another location and I opted to just have the nurse do it instead of going to that location) and omg, that $hit hurt! She had so much trouble with the speculum and she did say that the doctor warned her about my cervix being "tricky". After having trouble with the first speculum, she tried a bigger one, which hurt like a b!tch so she went back to the small one and still couldn't get it in. Finally, she resorted to using a tiny bit of lubricant, which did the trick. I'm so worried about the lube killing the sperm but she assured me that it was fine and that the cathereter goes past the lubricant.
We were told to have sex tonight or tomorrow and start Endometrim on Saturday. Beta is scheduled for the 9th (4 days before Mother's Day, thats a sign, right?) but you all know I'll be testing way before then.
(sorry for the format, posting from phone)
Re: IUI #2--done! (and ouch!)
My last IUI hurt a lot too. Like I had to breath through it and close my eyes. Hope that means something for you too!
Well this answers the question for future reference on what the 'difference' is between the RE and the nurse! I think it was you who was debating this last week? I thought nothing of it at the time. Who knew? I'm sure that the lube won't make a difference.
I'm really excited for you! What is your strategy to pass time during the 2WW?
Yep, that was me. Hopefully there won't be a next time but if there is, I'm going to have the doctor do it both times, without a doubt.
No strategy other than not obsess and try to remain as calm and relaxed as possible. I've been very good in going with the flow so I just need to keep that up.
We've done all we could do and at this point, I'm leaving it up to God. Also, the progesterone suppositories will give me very similar side effects as pregnancy symptoms so there's no point in me obsessing about every little twinge like I did before.
It's all in God's hands now.

I like your thinking!
OMG! This is EXACTLY what happened to me at my last IUI! The nurse fiddled with my cervix for 5 minutes, trading speculums and grunting before finally calling someone else in to do it. I almost kicked her in the throat!
Also, holy rockstar DH! I would KILL for those numbers! We've never had more than a 24 million TOTAL count. Give him a high five!

I don't know the gender of your doc but I found it ironic that the man (my RE) was in and out while the nurse (a woman) was having so much trouble!
I'm new to IUI so when they tell me the numbers I don't know whether to jump for joy or wish for more but it sounds like DH did good! Hopefully just 1 out of those millions of sperm will find their way to my egg!
EDIT: I just read your experience on your blog and I'm convinced we have the same nurse.

Right?! If you tell me you go to the Center for Reproductive Health in Crest Hill, IL, I will drop dead here. If the same nurse is going around poking people's cervixes I will work the rest of my days getting her fired. If not, people seriously need to start training these ladies to work with our "tilted" cervixes.
Note: What is the plural of cervix?
