More HSG questions

I know I should have asked my OB but he ordered this then left to start his own office. His new office isnt open til May 1 and I dont like the OB that got my file at the office when my OB left.

After it is over do you have to wait there at all or do you just get to get up, get dressed and leave?

Did they tell you the results then or did you have to wait?

Did you bleed after? How long?

He told me the results right there, as he was doing it basically. I was allowed to leave as soon as it was over. Good luck! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I could see on the screen when they were doing it and they were describing what they were looking for. After I just got dressed and left. I was fine to drive after and I wasn't cramping after either. They did give me a pad to wear, they said you can leak a little dye throughout the day afterward. I know you asked earlier about pain. It really wasn't that bad of course it hurts but it's over soon so just breath. I have heard it hurts more if there is a blockage but I haven't experienced that first hand. Good luck!

I was told what was happening and my results during the test, but my actual RE did my test.

I left a little after, but usually you can leave right away. I had to wait because I had to take benadryls because of my allergy to the iodine...and the dr.. made me wait till they were out of my system

I actually had heavy period like bleeding...I don't know if that is common...it didn't last long. I was sort of surprised.

I got the results during the procedure. I was able to leave right after and didn't have any bleeding. I did leak a little fluid though so wear a pad after.

This. I brought my own pad. The entire thing took 15 minutes, including undressing, etc. Don't live it twice!

My RE told me as she was doing it. Then, I got dressed and left. I didn't have any spotting or anything, but I did put on a pantyliner just in case. I had made sure to take the ibuprofen or naproxen (can't remember which one it was) and I didn't have any cramping after the fact. I do remember it hurting intensely for a nano-second when they injected the dye, but it was just like a really intense menstrual cramp.
