17P Not Working :o( Prayers needed.

So I have been on the 17P for a few weeks now and it is not working. I had my weekly check today and my cervix is down to a 1.7 (2.5 last week) with funneling despite bed rest and 17P. They placed me on stricter bed rest, started me on vaginal progesterone nightly, and put in a cervical pessary. I am so scared right now as I am only 22 weeks. Once we get to 24 weeks they will give the steroid shots to help mature the baby's lungs.
You would think that after struggling for years with losses and failed IVFs that this wouldn't be happening. When will it ever end??

Sending thoughts and prayers your way! Can they put in a rescue cerclage? I have heard that they can sometimes do them up to 24 weeks.

Jan 12: IVF #1 - BFP!
i went on bed rest at 22w1d with my twins- my cervix measured about the same as yours. it stayed there for the rest of my pregnancy (except for a dip down to .6cm at 27 weeks). i also got the steroid shots at exactly 24 weeks. i now have two healthy, full-term boys.
i am hoping strict bed rest does the trick and that you spend many months in bed before you welcome a healthy baby.
2/06 - surprise pregnancy - twins
3/06 - m/c 1st baby at 6 weeks
5/06 -2nd baby had no heartbeat at 14 wks.
D&E - Bled out. Blood transfusions. Week in ICU - Cheated Death!
Diagnosis: Blood clotting and bleeding disorder, immune issues, & cervical stenosis
5/10 - 1st IVF cycle - BFN
FET - 10/12/10 - BFN
1/11 - IVF with PGD - BFN

Unfortunately I had too much of my cervix removed from the cancer and my cervix is now (and has been) flush with the vaginal wall, therefore, there is nothing to stitch. Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers!

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.
