I have had nightime leaks for 4 out of the past 5 nights. It's driving me nuts and I'm thisclose to trying sposies for nights. But before I do that I thought I'd check and see what covers you guys are using. I have 1 woolybottom that my LO has nearly outgrown and 1 knitted soaker (vanilla pattern, I believe). I also think I have some fleece pants that I may try to use at night to see if that works.
What covers or soakers are you guys loving for nighttime?
Re: Rec your cover (or soaker)!
Curious, did you do any alterations to the Katrina pattern or did it work as is for you? I've made some for our little one, but I have to wait SO long to try them
I mostly use sbish longies right now. But, for soakers I have used upcycled. I had to lengthen the rise on the Katrina pattern for my babe - especially since it goes over a TT.
I am also curious about the diaper, typically that is where you need to make the change. Or perhaps try extra lanolizing the soaker you are using.
I used the neck/end of sleeves of the sweater for the waist and leg openings of the soaker, but other than that, it worked for me.
I have two wollybottoms wool soakers, one hybrid and the other interlock. The hybrid is a small and can be stretched over her overnight diaper, but works better during the daytime, the interlock is a medium, so we use it mostly for overnight.
I love their soakers! The best part is that they come pre lanolized, so I can use them right away.

Yeah, maybe I need to re-lanoliize. I haven't done it in a while.
I don't know how I could add any more absorbancy to my diapers. This is what I've used recently:
- on friday and sat I used a BG 4.0 stuffed with both rumparoo 6R hemp inserts and the small microfiber insert that comes with the BG4. I didn't use a cover. Most of the time this combination does work, but it's not 100%. I actually slept next to my LO both nights (we were travelling). Literally at 3am both nights I woke to feed her and she was dry. At 6:30 am when she woke up, the sheets were wet. The diaper was sopping.
- on sunday she wore an applecheeks stuffed with a thirsties hemp prefold. No cover. I should've also added a flat (this has worked before). My husband was first on diaper duty that night and he had to change the sheets and her jammies.
- monday night she slept in a blueberry pocket with the same 6R/microfiber combo and it worked.
- last night I put her in an OSC fitted with a knit soaker and we had to change the sheets by morning.
My woolybottom (size small) is too small to fit over the OSC fitted. We use it with some medium sbish fitteds but she can soak the sheets in that combo too. She's a monster
She goes down around 7pm, gets up for the day around 6:30 am and nurses twice during the night.
I've got a super soaker as well. We use one of the following with a thick hemp insert under the diaper flaps: Old School Cool, Bububebe, or Monkey Snuggles ON. The diapers are always wet on the outside by morning, as is the inside of the soaker, but her jammies are never wet. When the soakers start smelling or start getting wet on the outside, I relanolize.
Absolutely. I hope it works for you too.
