I'm still in labor. I'm a great example of things not going according to plan.
I labored for 38 hours med free. Didn't sleep the past 2 nights, so I was exhausted. The pain was bearable, although some contractions had me screaming out loud. Unfortunately, my water broke about 6 hours in, which automatically put me on a deadline. At 24 hours I was informed that I could no longer have the water birth I planned. At 35 they checked me and I was still stuck at 3cm. They recommended induction. Honestly, I was too tired to even attempt pitocin med-free, so now I'm laying here with an epi and a pitocin drip. They just checked me after 2 hours, and I'm at a 4.5-5cm. Apparently I just have a really stubborn cervix. Also the epi is wierd! Its nice not feel anything but VERY disconcerting. Anyway, hoping everything goes as planned and I can still have a vaginal birth. Thanks for all the well wishes!!

My first labor was similar to yours. I didn't get the med-free birth I envisioned, but the moment I first saw my healthy baby was amazing and made everything I'd gone through before okay.
Good luck and congratulations!
I can't even imagine going any longer than that! Kudo's to you! And I hope you get there soon and have a baby in your arms. Congrats!~
Thanks for the update - I was wondering how you were doing today! I hope the pitocin helps and things start to move quickly for you :-)
C'mon, Elvie's cervix! Let's get that baby out!
Hang in there, lady. Sending T&Ps to you and the LO.
Sorry to hear things didn't go as planned, hopefully it will all work out in the end, and you'll have that healthy baby in your arms! Wishing you lots of luck!

Aw hun! Best wishes your way! I had a 30 hour labor and had Pitocin from hour one since my water broke but I wasn't contracting. And my epi didnt work. It sucked. I feel for you!
Awesome you were able to go 38 hours though!! Hopefully now you can relax/sleep and maybe things will move along faster!
Hang in there! Your baby will be here soon!
Go you for making it 38 hours without anything. Sounds like the pitocin was needed and I don't blame you one bit for the epi!
