This group is open to anyone who has Diminished Ovarian Reserve or Premature Ovarian Failure (sometimes also called Primary Ovarian Insufficiency ? POI). 

 

This check-in will be posted each Wednesday.  If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message, and I?ll make sure to add you for next week.  Welcome to the lurkers!  We know this can be a difficult journey, but we welcome you with open arms.  Let us know if we can answer any questions.

annalisel ? had hysteroscopy and had 3 polyps removed, on BCPs now for IVF #2, baseline on 4/24, stims start 4/26

    Status Update:  ER was a bust - follicle had decreased in size which meant I had likely ovulated.  Since this is a natural cycle, there's nothing to keep me from ovulating.  So, we converted to IUI and will have our WTF on 3 May.  Still crossing my fingers though that IUI may have worked - stranger things have happened, right?

     

    What is your favorite place to travel and why?  Tough question!  I lived in Europe for a while and adored Prague, but loved so many of the places I went.  Didn't have a bad vacation anywhere so maybe there's too many places to list.  :)  For food though - I'd go to Malaysia in a heartbeat!  My mother is from there and I can visit family while eating my absolutely most favorite food in the world.  Plus, the fresh juices are a-ma-zing!

    Status Update: What is going on in your cycle or where are you in your process?

     

    I'm still waiting to hear back from my RE, I've been waiting since last Monday.  DH had a repeat SA done today following just over 100 days on Clomid and a month on supplements.  I'm hoping to hear back on those asap of course.  I'm praying they come back substantially better.  I'm pretty sure we have decided that if this RE is still going to stall us from starting treatments still or just do nothing, which is what it seems like she is doing, we are going to go to the first RE we met with at start a cycle with Clomid or Femera.  I have to do something.  Even if Clomid doesn't give us the best shot possible, we will at least be moving in the right direction.

     

    QOTW:  What is your favorite place to travel and why?  If I had to pick a place right now to travel, it would be Florida.  DH's parents have a Disney time share and we use it for free (AMAZING) lodging options.  For example, a one bedroom, king suite at the Grand Floridian with a view of the castle at Magic Kingdom!  Yes, been there and it's just wonderful to spend time just the two of us relaxing.

    ge0rge - sorry about the cancelled ER! FX the IUI works!

    I am taking my last BCP today and then will wait for AF. I've been spotting for the last week so I hope that doesn't mess stuff up. In the meantime I'm still waiting on a schedule from my clinic on when I can plan for a FET!

    QOTW: I loved Switzerland and Italy when I traveled across Europe and would love to go back. But there are a lot of other places I want to visit too! Never made it to Prague but heard it's fantastic. I'd love to visit Australia and New Zealand as well...

    Status Update: DH's SA came back with some improvement from the Clomid, but it is minimal. With my "ovarian clock ticking" we have decided to do IVF in August and will be travelling to Houston (3.5 hours away) to do it based on their SART data for DOR. 

     

    QOTW:  I love anywhere with on a beach! Calm, clear waters, white sand beaches, ahhh... We went to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos for our Honeymoon and I have been to Hawaii a couple of times. I wish I were on a beach right now instead of thinking about the cost of OOP IVF and med prices!

     12/6/12 - Adopted five embryos that had been frozen for over ten years!
     2/11/13 - DEmbryo FET #1 Thawed four, sadly two didn't survive. Transferred two beautiful blasts. 
     2/16/13 - First BFP of my life @ 6dp5dt! EDD 10/30/13
     3/27/13 - After beta and u/s hell, no heartbeat ever detected. D&C at 9w1d.

    6/5/13 - Adopted four new embryos that had been frozen for seven years!      
    9/12/13 - DEmbryo FET #2. Thawed and transferred two beautiful blasts
    9/17/13 - BFP @ 5dp6dt! EDD 05/31/14
     9/29/13 - m/c @ 5w1d. :(

    11/19/13 - DEmbryo FET #3. Thawed and transferred one blast from each batch. Wow!
     11/23/13 - BFP @ 4dp6dt! EDD 8/7/13
    Beta #1 @ 13dp6dt - 522  Beta #2 @ 16dp6dt - 1373 
    6w5d ultrasound showed one perfect baby with a beautiful heartbeat of 134bpm!

    I just found out that we are approved for the guarantee success package! I am so happy right now! We are moving full steam ahead with DE. My guess is I will start meds in June....eeeek!

    QOTD: I have not been to Europe, Hawaii, or Costa Rica, which are on my bucket list. Of the places I have been, I lved Aruba and Cabo equally. I did study abroad for a year in Brazil and thought the country was beautiful. So, I loved it there too!

     Status Update: What is going on in your cycle or where are you in your process?

    Had lap on 3/21/12. Not much found. TTC naturally and opk'ing but hoping to be able to do IUI in June

     

    QOTW:  What is your favorite place to travel and why?

    Paris! Good times on my honeymoon, before I knew I was IF and thought a baby would be more attainable. Oh, and good bread and wine :)

    Status Update: IVF #2 was cancelled due to high TSH levels. It will be 3 months for my body to equilibrate which is a devastatingly long time for a 40 year old. 

     

    QOTW:  What is your favorite place to travel and why? I'm not a big traveller. I don't think there's any place I've been to twice.

    Status Update: I had two dominate follicles, one in the 31 range and the other in the 28 range from the clomid.  I triggered on Thursday.  

     

    QOTD: DH and I love to travel.  I think our most favorite place to go to is Italy, but we may be a little biased cuz I have a lot of family there.   

    Me: 30, DOR with a FSH of 12.5
    DH: 31, no issues
    4-6/2012 100mg of Clomid + trigger + IUI/TI = BFN
    7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN
    8/2012 Surprise unmedicated BFP!! Due May 8, 2013
