Best disposables for newborns?

I know I know... "best disposables" = no such thing, but while we're in the hospital she'll be in disposables and at least we can provide our own.  Seems like the 7th generation dipes don't have the best reviews and actually have some of the same chemicals as other name brands... Earth's Best doesn't have a newborn size unless I'm missing something...

What's a good compromise?

  • We used Target brand because they don't have any perfumes, plus they worked well.  We also used Huggies Pure and Natural.

  • Honestly, its 3 days so I'm just using the diapers the hospital provides.  Last time it was Pampers.

Yeah that's what we did.  I was so shell shocked and sleep-deprived and exhausted from 48 hours of labor and then feeding every hour or so that diapers were the last thing I thought about.  Except the SEVEN times she pooped meconium.

But they provided Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive and they worked great while we were there.

    Yup.

Tushies is probably the most chemical free but they literally don't hold sh*t.

  • Earth's Best makes newborn size diapers.  We used them for a few days with DS because of using Vaseline. We then moved into prefolds and covers at 5 days old.

  • My hospital uses prefolds and covers, but I would say that the stay isn't that long and won't cause any harm.  I wouldn't waste money buying  package of NBs for the hospital - buy something cute in cloth instead!

  • It's not that bad using cloth from the start. If you are buying a NB stash, I would just do that.
