Baby wise-repost from 3-6 month board.

Hi all!  For some reason, I had the crazy thought that this baby wise stuff was supposed to be started around 4 months, so I started reading the book this week.  Obviously, if you've read the book, you know it didn't take me very long to realize I could have been doing this since our DD was born!  Has anyone done this method and if so, was it successful for you and do you have any advice on starting it on a 13 week old?  She just started STTN about two weeks ago.  She eats each night between 8 and 9:30 and usually wakes up between 3:30 and 4:30 to eat.  I feel like we may be doing the PDF kind of right, but we def do ESAY instead of EASY due to DD have bad reflux.  Today, my goal is to attempt to start EASY.  Anyway, any advice is appreciated!  Thanks so much!

  • We do a three hour schedule and it works great! We don't have her CIO, but she doesn't really need to. She also has relux and I think the schedule has been great for her. I was adamit not to feed on demand.

  • Your instinct to start at four month is correct because cry it out absolutely shouldn't be started till they are four to five months old and at least fifteen pounds.  YOu can do the routines listed in babywise earlier than that.  But, I don't think it will do any harm to start late.
  • Thanks so much for the advice!  The encouragement and input helped!  We are on day 3 and although she still has her 3:30 wake time at night, she is napping in her crib with hardly any troubles and eating better!  Yay!  One thing at a time, I guess!
