What do you use when you wipe their tush? Sorry this is a weird question, but I can't seem to get a good wipe job done with just toilet paper so I end up using a baby wipe or a flushable wipe if I remember to buy them. He won't lay down to let me get a good clean and I don't feel like him standing there lets me get him really clean (he'll clench his tush together). He would also like for me to start letting him wipe himself...do you let them practice?

I was just talking to a friend about this. DS bends over so I can wipe him and I think it is so funny. We use Target flushable toddler wipes - TP just doesnt get the job done and then he complains about a sore hiney.

E uses TP and wipes herself when she pees. For poop, she's not coordinated enough yet to reach around and wipe herself clean, so I help with that. She does what daycare taught her -- she'll turn around and put her hands on the wall and stick her bottom out, like she's waiting to be frisked! I usually use baby wipes for poop.

She wipes her pee. Poop, she bends down and touches her toes and I use tp.

With one of mine it was always no issue and very easy.

The other one we called "bubble but" because it was nearly impossible to get in there good. For him we used flushable wipes and the "touch your toes" method.

I let Claire try to wipe her butt first, but her idea is rubbing the toilet paper on her lower back. It's as far as she can reach with her coordination. When it's my turn, she leans forward and I use TP.

At school they all lean forward and put their hands on the ground until they get wiped, so it's easy.

DD is 4.5, she just started wiping herself, she uses flushable wipes, i have them in every bathroom. She will occasionally wipe herself going poop.

When she goes poop, I still wipe her to make sure we get it all, I have her bend over she puts her head sort of between my legs and i make sure i get it all.

Yes -- let them practice! I feel that wipes are better than toilet paper.

E wipes himself, and uses tp. When I do it, occasionally, just to be sure he doing a good job, I will use wipes, and he bends over and makes it easy for me!
