I just read about this plan on another board. I wish I would have heard about it earlier! What are your thoughts?
| "Try" every other night starting Day 8 | |
| Buy 10 ovulation predictor kit sticks | |
| Begin ovulation testing on Day 10 | |
| When test is positive, "try" that night, plus two additional nights in a row | |
| Skip one night, then do one last "try" | |
| Take a home pregnancy test 15 days after your ovulation test was positive, if your period has not begun | |
| If your ovulation test never goes positive, continue "trying" every other night until Day 35, then do a pregnancy test if your period has not begun. | |
| Statistics coming in from women who write me show that about 40% of post-miscarriage women will get pregnant on the first try if they are faithful to the plan, about double the number of the normal population who are not on the plan. This assumes, of course, that you waited for a normal cycle to begin after your loss, and did not begin trying before having a period after a miscarriage. Many women do not ovulate in that first cycle. |
Re: Sperm meets egg plan
Sounds like "Deannas Plan"
Yea i think its just a safety, incase of a late Oer... and not for nothing, but arent all ttc plans, sperm meets egg plans lol
Its a good plan, i know A TON of people that its worked for... it works best for people that can use OPKs as a reliable indicator of ovulation. If youre not ovulating, or have PCOS or some other unknown factor it wont work...
That is exactly what I was thinking.
TTC since 11/2009; Lap/HSG/Hysteroscopy: 5/2011 (endometriosis - removed; endocervical polyp - removed; high pressure in bilateral tubes - cleared)
BFP #1: 8/4/11; DS1 born sleeping on 11/16/11 at 19w1d
BFP # 2: 5/7/12, EDD 1/10/13, DS2 born 1/4/13
BFP # 3: 11/8/13, EDD 7/17/14, mmc 10wks
BFP # 4: 5/16/14, EDD 1/15/15, praying for our 2nd rainbow baby
no plan is going to be a sure thig... but the plan is actually really smart, imo, youre not wasting your time with too much sex when its not needed....
This plan resulted in our first BFP, which unfortunately ended in MC.
I am charting and using OPK's so we doing a "modified" version. Since I O late, we don't start the EOD until about CD 15 or so. Then once I see a +OPK, we do ED until my temp rises. If we're not too tired out, we'll go one more time on the day of my temp spike.
We're on our third TTCAL cycle right now. Obviously we haven't gotten our second BFP yet, but we have had stellar timing each cycle. If nothing else, I am at ease knowing that we are literally doing everything we possibly can to get pg. It will also be good data to show my doc if we aren't KU in the next few months.
Totes the bolded!
