Hi everyone,
Quick question - I just found out that taking alfalfa during pregnancy can help elevate Vit K levels and reduce postpartum bleeding. However, I'm already almost 33 weeks along. Is it too late to start consuming it? Also, I saw that people mostly take it in pill form - is that better than just eating the sprouts?
Thanks!
Re: Alfalfa for bleeding
That's true - better late than never!
def do pill form and start 2-3 a day, the difference btwn dd1 and dd2 w/ bleeding has been crazy different.
this time ( I took alfalfa) and I'm already having very little pp bleeding and my bleeding right after the birth was much less as well
eep I'm not sure, I'd ask your dr before taking it though
where in phx are you at? where are you delivering?
that's great! I've heard great things about them
The pills I got say 3 capsules/day. I don't know if it varies by type of pill, but I'll go with the listed dose.
That's very interesting, I didn't know alfalfa does that.
....so then, if it raises vitamin k levels in the mother's body, it would also raise the level in the baby's body as well? I'll definitely talk to my MW about this, but in all of your opinions...does taking alfalfa make it completely unnecessary for the baby to get the vitamin k shot after birth?
