we cannot agree on a name and had 3 names that we both liked (though neither of us loved any of them) and now DH has informed me that he no longer likes any of those names. So, we're back at square one. Finding a boy's name is SOOOO hard! Any suggestions....we like names that aren't super popular, but "normal" names, nothing too different (the 3 names we had picked out were Liam, Callum, and Braden) and the middle name will be Odin. Help me make a list of names and see how many DH vetoes!
Re: Our poor child is going to be nameless.....
Along those same lines, I like...
Caleb Odin
Kiernan Odin
Good Luck - It is really hard to pick a boy name. We are struggling as well.
Nothing wrong with going into the DR with a "short list" and deciding after they were born. I disagree with you about boy vs. girl. We have had a much harder time coming up with girl names we like. BTW- I love Liam and Callum:)
Here was our short list for DS. We were also looking for original but not out there:)
Bennett (The winner) Latin for "little blessed one" way outside the top 100.
Preston
Lincoln
Paxton
Carter (2nd Choice)
A couple others I have heard recently: Josiah, Theodore (Teddy for short), Sawyer, Wyatt and Cooper.
Hope this helps. Got any girl names???? I am stumped!
Our little one is also nameless. We've read through every name book in the library, gone to every website, etc. No luck. Our back-up name was Theodore-family name-but after hearing my parents refer to the baby as Teddy for the past weekend at a wedding, I crossed it off. Not sure if I'm irritated that they're calling the baby by a name I haven't officially given him yet, or if it's the name it's self. Either way, it's off.
On that note, my parents insist on calling the baby by a 'real' name. We just call him Baby or Little One. But they MUST have a name. So he gets referred to as David (my mom's favorite-not even on our list-what the heck??) or Teddy or whatever other name catches their fancy in the moment. It's so weird and disturbing. And I don't get disturbed by things easily.

My DH has this problem too. Except we're team green - so it's totally random. He called our DD either Greg or Roger. Now, he calls this LO Roy. It is strange, but I've gotten used to it.
Boy names I have seen lately...
Eli, Emerson, Parker
DH and I talked about if we had a boy using Grady.
Grady Odin sounds cute. So does Parker Odin or Eli Oden.
Best of luck... we have finally agreed on a name for our girl, but we are already starting to talk about a name for a future baby #2 as it took us years to come up with a name we agreed on for the 1st!!
I ADORE the site nameberry (dot) com.... but be careful because it is super addictive! Many of your names sound Irish to me-- they have some great lists on there that might give you some good ideas.
We finally got a name about a month ago, also started to stress about it. You'll get it I promise. My thoughts were exactly the same as yours, not everyday names, but also not weird. Finally decided on Kehan (Kian, but "different" spelling)
Good luck!!!
