Who hasn't moved their LO up to a convertible seat yet?
We have a Snugride 32 so LO has a little to go in her infant seat (she is 28.5 inches long). They grow ~1 inch per month, is that right? So I would expect her to hit 32 inches in ~3 months? Should I wait until she gets to 31.99 inches or should we move her sooner?
We want to be able to reuse the carseats for our next LO. Would that be a reason to hold off buying one?
We are looking at the Britax b/c it gets good ratings. We plan to do longer car trips so we want her to be comfortable. I looked at the Cosco Scenera and the padding is like, nonexistant. Is there something in-between?
Thank you!
Re: convertible seat
We moved Carter a few months ago b/c he was so big (he's currently 22.5lbs, 29inches). He seems much more comfortable in the convertible. There isn't any reason you *need* to move her before she reaches the height/weight maximums for your seat. I don't think the fact that you hope to reuse the infant has anything to do with how long you use it now. Carseats have expiration dates, so you could use it for another 3 months and still reuse so long as it hasn't expired.
We have a Britax Marathon and I really like it. As I mentioned, it does seem much more comfortable. We also have a Titan Elite convertible seat in our second car and it is nice enough. More padding than the Cosco, but not nearly as much as the Britax.
We moved DS a while ago just because he was frustrated by the recline of the infant seat and much prefers sitting more upright in the convertible. The only reason I can see effecting using it for another child is the expiration date, but 3 months isn't going to make a difference on that.
We have two Evenflo Triumph Advances and love them. I have the Cosco for my mom's car and it does the job, but definitely isn't cushy. DD says the Triumph is extremely comfortable and I like how easy it is to install and adjust.
