The first time around we used the ovulation tests and to be honest, it just got too stressful. It took all the fun out of trying. We are now trying again and really just want to see what happens. That was what we said anyways... I have been off BC since December and my cycles are way different than before I had DD - much longer. I'm not sure I even know when I am ovulating. I so want to be surprised, but part of me wants to go pick up those stupid tests! I'm seriously having to practice some self control every time I drive by the drugstore. I have gone from let?s see what happens to I WANT ANOTHER BABY NOW crazy. If you are expecting again, did you do anything differently? Just let it happen? I really don't want to stress DH out by doing those tests again and I would feel really guilty doing them and not telling him. Some just tell me to settle down! Thanks for letting me vent...
Re: If you have been successful TTC#2...
We haven't started trying just yet, but you might want to try charting your temps for a few months so you get an idea of what's going on. I started charting back in Aug. when my cycle first started and it's crazy month to month- some days I ovulate on CD20 other months I ovulate on CD12, with that huge gap I know if I wasn't charting it'd be a miracle if we were to conceive by just "seeing what happened" lol.
It's stressful when you get that urge of baby fever so no one can really say settle down, but try not to worry too much. There are a lot of things you can do if you are feeling like you want it to happen sooner rather than later.
Good luck!!
Spontaneous pregnancy #1
DD1 July 31, 2011
Trying for #2 since Oct 11
Spontaneous pregnancy #2= Ectopic #2= lost left tube
Spontaneous pregnancy #3= DD2 January 29, 2016
Spontaneous pregnancy #4= Ectopic #3
Spontaneous pregnancy #5= Baby #3 is a BOY!!!
We weren't TTC # 2 but we got an awesome surprise instead! With our first, I had to take fertility medications due to lack of ovulating by myself.
For this one, it just happened.
But my cycles were off too. Going by my last period made my cycle more like 40 days long (I've had AF back since A was 4 months old.)
Good luck to you!
I used an iPhone app called "P Tracker," as in period tracker. It charts for you and predicts when you will ovulate, plus logs a bunch of other cool info. I used it for 3 months before trying for baby #1 and got pregnant the first night of trying. I used it again as soon as I got my first pp period (5 weeks after giving birth) and got pregnant the first night of trying again, but my cycle went immediately back to normal so I guess I was just lucky there.
Good luck!
I downloaded the My Days app last night and entered in when I started the last three months so it could have enough data to determine my average cycle length and it had me ovulating last Friday. I'm going to keep with it to see what happens. I'm going to also try the P Tracker today, just to see what it says...
Thanks!!!
