Tell me how to clean this...

Human pee.

Monster peed on the floor/in a play tent multiple times while he was here and I just can't get the smell out, as soon as I open the bedroom door, the smell almost knocks me off my feet.

Any ideas?

Re: Tell me how to clean this...

  • Has the pee penetrated something other than the tent of the floor? Like the carpet beneath?  If it's a hard surface try making a paste of baking soda, vinegar, and lemon. Leave it on the spot for awhile and then wash away.  That would be harder to do on carpet though.

  • Natures Miracle? Professional cleaner? If it is in the padding though, it is going to be hard to remove the smell (says the woman who's cat has suddenly decided to pee on the floor.).Sad

Yeah...if it's in the carpet padding, there's not much you can do, other than trying to completely saturate the area with an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle.  And yes, my experience comes from cat pee, but I figure it's similar?

  • BacOut from Biokleen. I have a kid with enuresis /encopresis. We know from stink and stains around here. Bacout is a miracle! You can get it at whole foods or sprouts for even less.

Thank you!  Isn't that stuff good for cloth diapers too?

  • Yes! A little squirt before the pail or wash and they come out perfect.
