Tell me about it - I get that you get free two-day shipping, but I generally don't order things that I need super quick and select the free super saver shipping anyway. We cloth diaper so we don't need any disposables or things like that. We do however tend to buy a lot of toddler snacks - Annie's Gummy Rabbit treats are a big hit and unless I hit a major sale always cheaper on Amazon. Same with Grammy Sammys and when DD was still eating "baby" foods we did a lot of purees in pouches when on the go. In fact, she still sometimes eats the Ella's Kitchens ones. For DH and I, I buy regular stuff. Things we want or need. I am getting a Kindle (today! it's out for delivery) so I'm thinking it would be nice to have access to the library but I have access to our local library anyway.
I guess I just want to know if anyone has ever had it and though "eh, not worth it" because all I ever hear is how great it is. I also recognize that our lives are about to get a lot more busy and maybe for that reason alone it's worth it.
Re: Amazon Prime - Tell Me About It
I've been thinking of signing up. I miss my free shipping from Amazon mom. it was invaluable around Christmas..and just for general things when it was really tough to get out of the house (like it will be for you when the little ones arrive...) I bought all sorts of things on amazon, just because shipping was free...why not!? I needed a fan, so I looked on amazon and bought one that had free shipping..same with headphones umbrella, etc.
and we are cancelling netflix since we only watch tv shows on there..and amazon prime can offer us many of those same shows and crappy movies. And the one free kindle a month is pretty neat...i'm not sure if they usually offer books I'd be interested in, because I haven't researched that.
But...overall, I think its worth it. $80 to have billiions of things delivered to your door step two days later? sold!
we have been paying for prime for many years and LOVE it. I was super excited to get it free for a year when amazon mom first came out- too bad they aren't doing that the same anymore.
we buy a LOT from amazon - not just diapers, but vitamins, books, toys, you name it. Knowing i can get "free" shipping all the time and have things here in 2 days is great for me.
Also, if you own a kindle you can borrow books for free if you are prime - for unlimited amounts of time (one book at a time).... that can save you tons of money to begin with.

We have prime and I never would have made it through the holiday's without it! We buy a lot of presents and being able to order something from my phone with one-click ordering was invaulable. I didn't have to shop on the weekends or run into Target after work (with DS) to get diapers, a book, toys etc. I love that as long as I remember 2 days out that I need something, it shows up!
I just got an ipad so I haven't borrowed any books yet from amazon but I plan to do that. I also use the library but often have to be waitlisted for books.
I heard that you can have more than one name on the prime account and I know you can have more than one credit card so I think that means you can share the account with someone. I'm not sure how that works though as we haven't done it and I'm not sure we will. I wouldn't want BIL for example to have access to the list of items I buy.
Anyway, for the free 2 day shipping alone I love it.
We have had prime for years. It's so great for sending gifts, we do that a ton. Cousin had a baby? Send it right to them! Also for those times when you need one or two things and just don't feel like loading up the kids for one thing.
There are also a ton of movies and tv shows now included in prime membership, kinda like Netflix watch instantly. Not as good selection as Netflix, but not bad.
I've had Amazon Student for a year and just switched to Amazon Mom. I've used it a lot for the two-day shipping alone. Gifts, random things for the house -- you can get so much on Amazon and avoid a trip out with a toddler. (Maybe I'm just lazy!)
A word to the wise on the streaming video that's included, though -- you can only stream to a computer or your TV or a Kindle Fire. We canceled Netflix thinking I could stream Amazon video to the iPad for DS, and it's a no go.
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
Because we're fancy like that.

Big prime fans here too. We've had the membership for a few years. I use subscribe and save for kid stuff (veggie/fruit pouches, baby food, puffs, snacks, etc). We use it a ton for presents. A ton. I couldn't get through the holidays without it.
I also use it for random stuff. I need new take n toss bowls for the kids? Prime, it is. Saves me a random trip to Target. K needs a new mattress pad? Prime.
I'm in the "can't live without it" camp too
