3rd Trimester

Anyone not drop?

I have 5 weeks to go & am wondering if LO will even drop. She's always pretty high up. I like to say that the higher up/the more she sticks her butt out, the happier she is! And yesterday was really uncomfortable. It even makes me think that next week at my exam when the doc tries to feel for LO's head, he won't feel anything b/c she's so high up!

Re: Anyone not drop?

  • My son never "dropped". I went in at 38 weeks and was 2 cm dilated and about 60% effaced I think. The doc could feel his head but he still wasn't extremely low. Went into labor naturally 2 days later. So yeah, dropping doesn't really mean anything.

  • I went to 42 weeks before I went into labor naturally and never once experienced the "sit on his head" feeling. Everything else seems to be getting ready and when baby is she will make her way out :) No worries though. Every baby sits differently but they all come out eventually :)

  • My daughter dropped when I was about 37 weeks (I think?) and I still had to be induced because she didn't want to come out :) I just got an email from Babycenter that said that its not uncommon for women to not drop at all or to not drop until you go into active labor.

  • I'm a little behind you but still waiting to drop as well. I've been lucky in that I haven't really experienced the non-dropping symptoms (shortness of breath and heartburn), so I'm wondering if at some point she'll drop and I won't even notice - that happened to one of my friends and she was carrying twins!
