Finally getting started

Between having a baby, BM being drug back to town (we thought she might actually decide to be a mother), and my own wonderings about whether I'm a good enough mom to make our older kids put up with me permanently, we are just getting started with the adoption. We decided to meet with a lawyer first to make sure we had everything straight and then we'll talk to the kids when we know that there will be nothing to stop us. BM hasn't contacted the kids in over a year, even while she was in the area and actually only living a couple of miles away. Things are wonderful most of the time and I think that if the kids tell me they don't want me to adopt them I can handle it.

So the consultation is tomorrow, wish me luck!
