Pregnant after a Loss

Clicky Poll-- Have you had spotting?

Just curious as to how many of us have had spotting and are still going on to having a healthy pregnancy. This is my fourth pregnancy but my first with spotting so it makes me nervous of course. [Poll]

Re: Clicky Poll-- Have you had spotting?

  • No spotting this pregnancy or during the last one either, but that one didn't turn out so well.  It can go any way - you can have spotting and a successful pregnancy, no spotting and an unsuccessful pregnancy, etc.

  • I had spotting with both my miscarriage and this pregnancy.  Both times at about 5-6 weeks and both the same amount / color. The only difference was the last time it eventually stopped and with my miscarriage it just got heavier.

  • I have had spotting this pregnancy. It started around week 5 and still going. It's only brown, not heavy but noticeable. Once it first happened had a PgAL freak out then got the ok. :)

  • I had two days of random one time at the bathroom wipe and a tiny bit of blood was there. First time I thought oh well I am going to start in the next few days (hadn't tested yet). Second time was at around 5-6 weeks and the time in the bathroom was unpleasant. Haven't had an issue since.

  • With my first I had an SCH around 11 weeks that caused spotting, but never any other spotting.  With this baby I had VERY light brown almost more like discharge spotting here and there from probably 6-8ish weeks.  It was often after an internal u/s but once or twice it was on its own.

  • I had light brown spotting from 5w-7w in both pregnancies, but with my first, it came back around 10w (about a week before the missed m/c was diagnosed). No more bleeding since 7w with this one (FX!)

  • I had red/pink spotting every.single.day from 5 DPO until 11 weeks.  I was even on progesterone starting from 9DPO and it didn't stop the spotting.

  • Congrats on your pregnancy! I am so thrilled for you.

I didn't have spotting with my first loss. I had it with my DD. I had it with this pregnancy (it was a twin).

So for me, spotting didn't really mean anything.

  • Congrats on your pregnancy!

I had spotting occasionally throughout first tri. If I remember correctly, it was at 6, 8, and 12 weeks. Havent had any since then!

  • I voted "no" but this is the first pregnancy (out of 4) in which I've had no spotting. I had spotting with both miscarriages, but the heaviest bleeding by far was with DD. I had a SCH that gushed tons of blood (sorry TMI) at 7 weeks - scariest thing I've ever experienced. DD is now 2. So it really can turn out fine!
