At my appt this morning the Doctor said my cervix is really soft and thin.  No dilation, baby is head down.  Got heart tones on the doppler and perfect NST.   No bloody show or mucous plug, just normal ol discharge.  I have an US this Friday to get growth measurements.   She said everything was good, fine.

Do u think this means I will go early or just stay this way til the end?

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation. Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation).
~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40!  Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).

    My best friend started to thin out around 34 weeks and stayed that way up until her induction. She never started to dilate, but was nearly 100% effaced a week before her due date.

    This is baby #2 right??? It is not uncommon for this to happen the more you have I guess b/c i had some contractions @ 28 weeks and when the dr checked me I was already @ a 1 1/2 and soft!!! crazy right??? lol I am 32 weeks now and no contractions again so... I would tend to think you would not make it to 40 weeks, probably 36-38 - thats when I had my first 2 and I am like you and soften early... I say better a little early than late!

    Could be yes, or it could be no. Women walk around dilated to 3-4 for weeks at a time and end up going over-due. It's really just a wait and see kind of game.
