Injection sites

On my pharmacy tutorial for subcutaneous injections it says that I need to rotate my injection site daily.

Is that just for my own pain level or for medication distribution? I really prefer to inject into my stomach in various spots each time than into my leg, or my arm (which is just awkward for me to reach).

Re: Injection sites

  • I think most people just sort of circle around their under belly button area and change it up daily. That's probably good enough. I did left, middle, right.

  • I just gently press on each section of my belly and avoid injecting in the tender areas. Some places where I did an injection stay tender for a few days and others don't get tender at all. As others have said, you can do them all in your belly if you wish.

This is what I did as well.

2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".

  • I asked this same question, and I felt incredibly stupid doing so.  I am sooo glad I am not the only one who wondered.  Honestly so much is in involved in a cycle and I just didn't want to mess up something small and stupid and have the whole thing fail.  Super paranoid?  Maybe.  But better safe than sorry.

That being said, the answer from my nurse was that it was for my own comfort.  Good luck!
