Mineral makeup recommendations

Does anyone have any good recommendations for natural powder foundation? Bare Minerals has a fairly good rating on EWG and I like the idea that it only has 4 ingredients, however the fourth ingredient (Bismuth Oxychloride) irritates my mild rosacea. Bare Minerals also made my skin itch the first time I tried it so I had a feeling it wasn't for me. I prefer pressed powder to loose and I am also looking for something I can pick up at Whole Foods or order easily online.

 Thanks in advance!

  • Have you tried Physicians Formula's mineral makeup? I haven't' tried it (I'm a bareMinerals fan), but I've heard really good things. I've also liked Korres and Josie Maran's makeup, which you can order from Sephora, but those are not powder makeups. Jane Iredale is good, too. I used that for my wedding, because it wears longer than bareMinerals, and it looked good and didn't irritate my eczema or rosacea.

  • I switched from Bare Minerals to Southern Magnolia Minerals on a recommendation from someone her on the EFF board a few years ago. It's cheaper, made by a family owned business in the USA and has a cleaner formulation: https://www.smmcosmetics.com/ingredients.aspx.

Customer service has been great and I like that I can now just buy bulk sized bags of the powder and refill my containers at will.

  • I love my mineral makeup from theallnaturalface.com

Her prices are great and she always has sales. Not a huge fan of her mascara but love the fou ration, blush, eyeshadow, and eyeliner

  • I love Alima Pure mineral makeup.  I'm pretty sure they only sell online (at least they do to Canada), but they do have sample sizes for a really good price.

  • I will second the vote for Alima Pure. They are highly rated for safe ingredients, eco-friendly, etc. I like that they're a small business, too. Because of that, though, you have to buy on the internet - but like PP said, you can order samples of their products, so you can test before you buy. Great quality! I use their foundation, eyeshadow, and shimmer powder. They are all loose, rather than pressed, but they have nice little shaker containers. I feel like they're reasonably priced, too, compared with other brands I've seen or some that friends use. Good luck!

  • Thank you for all of the great suggestions! I can't wait to check some of these brands out.

  • love Alima pure. I got samples of stuff I didn't order and now I'm hooked on their mineral eyeliner. And I have plenty in the sample they sent!
