my dd is 25months now i gained 50lbs with her and i lost alot of it in the beginning but i still look like i am pregnant, when i am naked or wear something tight, it sucks. i haven't exercised but shouldn't have it gone down by now? i had a c-section, not sure if that matters.

  • Honestly, I'm not convinced "the pooch" ever goes away. Last year I lost 100% of my baby weight + 20lbs- was in the best shape of my adult life (ran 5-6 days a week, lifted weights, ate great and got down to a size 2/4)- and the yet the pooch remained. I didn't have a C-section so I think maybe it's just a mommy thing.

i agree. I didnt work out before DS, but I was fit. I have had the pooch and after this LO I am sure it will only be worse. I am going to invest in Spanx. Lol

  • Personally,  I think there was a difference in my body after a vaginal birth and csection.  With ds, he was born by vaginal birth, and I lost all of the weight I gained with him, and then some.  With dd - she was born my emergency csection, and I have lost the weight, however I just feel proportioned differently.  The weight definitely did not come off as easily as with ds.

  • This has gotten me really depressed lately! And DD is 3 in two weeks:/ I know I should workout but if I find the time I'm too tired and when I am ready to go ive got too much to do and then other days I just feel unmotivated. *sigh* Im hoping to start somekind of routine soon.
  • Yes!  And I am a runner.  I generally run 3+ miles 2x weekly (don't have time for much more).   For some reason, with my 3rd kid, it just got worse....I lost the weight and the belly wasn't as bad as it is now!!!

This exactly. My stomach muscles stretched and tore during pg 2.  I went to a plastic surgeon who said I was a good candidate for a tummy tuck or lipo. The tummy tuck would give me a rock hard abdomen but leave a scar similar to a c-section. Since I never had a CS, I went for lipo. My stomach is flat but still soft. Clothes look so much better on me. I had low self-esteem b/c of the pooch and decided to go the surgery route. I know this is not for everyone. I had a good experience though and I'm happy w/ my results. Basically, I'm telling you this b/c having the pooch is normal even for those of us mom's who are a size 2/4.

  • I am finally back to what I looked like (or very close to it) at just over 2 years.  But what I learned is that it required weight training.  That doesn't mean working out 2 hours a day.  But as you get older you need to build muscle to keep your metabolism up and keep your body toned.

Best thing I've done was meet with a trainer (once) who gave me a 1 hour or less total body workout routine...  10 mins. cardio warmup, then weight training and compound exercises for the balance.  It is so, so much better than being on an elliptical or treadmill for hours and hours each week and seeing no results.

    GL!

Almost exactly the same. Vaginal birth first, lost 60% weight, got pregnant and didn't gain much, c-section... terrible proportions! I've been working out, eating better, doesn't matter. It reminds me of the episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8 when the doctor gives her a free tummy tuck and she shows the cottage cheese pouch... yuck!
