Getting worse instead of better. But I guess that's the normal grief cycle?! At any rate, it's really hard when the rest of the world has moved on and we still have this huge hole in our hearts.

My pain/worry/grief is mainly for my SIL and her family - I just try not to think about the loss because it's almost too overwhelming. I mean, how do you get up and make one less sandwich for lunch? Have one less plate at dinner? One less backpack to prepare? I don't know -- again, I try to push that stuff out of my head because it just hurts my heart too much.

Navigating this whole thing has been so surreal - and there are no handbooks on thisshit! I mean, it's a whole other ball game - the loss of a child, the way he was taken. It's just....

But we are strong. They are strong. And I know we will get this through this. Just not as easily as I was thinking initially. I guess shock and adrenaline have worn off!

My own children are having issues because of this. It's just all encompassing. And yet we have to move forward.

I'm rambling so I'll stop now. Thank you for asking! Sorry for spilling!

I'm glad you are finding comfort in your family's strength. I wish I had more to say, but please know we continue to think of you and your family.

Jodi, not a day passes that I don't think about your family. I am sure everything you are feeling is a normal part of the grieving process and I imagine it will be a long hard road and that you are all forever changed. My heart goes out to all of you. You ARE strong!

Thanks for the support, thoughts and prayers girls! People, in general, have been truly AMAZING during these past two weeks. That is definitely one positive in this situation -- seeing how complete strangers will go out of their way for people who are hurting. This would truly be a test of faith for just about anyone -- it has only solidified ours. God is all around us! (And I feel really hokey saying that since I considered myself a complete Athiest at one point in my life! But it is how I feel in this moment!)
