Cloth Diapering

Slimmest fitting diaper

I have learned so much from all the ladies on this board (mostly through lurking) and I need some help rounding out my stash.

I have BGs, Alvas, 2 happy heinys, and a flip.  I have heard and can tell that the alvas are way bigger so I am not depending on them once we start with all our OS.  We have chosen to just use sposies for the nb stage (well my hubby decided), so I am looking for one size or close to one size diapers that fit smaller and slimmer.  I want to make sure that we have smaller, slimmer diapers to fit under certain outfits (as I have heard that fluff butts can be rather large when using OS diapers). I was looking at Ones and Twos, but I would like to try others as well so I am not buying a lot of one type.

Thanks so much for your help! :D

  • Grovia, either AI2 or AIO are both super trim!  Apparently g-diapers are too but I hear so much against them that I wouldn't recommend them.

  • I may not be any help since my LO is still cooking, but we're going with several Applecheeks with the bamboo inserts. I know they aren't AIO, but I'm only buying the envelope cover for the size 2 since I'll already have the bamboo inserts from the size 1 (their inserts fit both sizes).
We also have one size BG AIO dipes (hubby likes these better) and a few other sized pocket brands to be on the safe side.
From what I've learned on this board, the sized dipes are less bulky.

ETA: I meant to add that we're going to use the AC dipes as AI2 so we can reuse the envelope cover a few times (if it doesn't get poopy).

  • The slimmest I have would be my fuzzibunz one size for sure! After that would be sunbaby. My stash includes rumparooz, happy heinys, fuzzibunz, swaddlebees and sun baby.

Yes  But they never fit my LO well. They always leaked. However, I've been watching DH's co-worker's 5 m/o for the past week and he does well in them.

  • The trimmest OS AIOs I have are Bottom Bumpers. We exclusively use Best Bottoms AI2 system now, and with a hemp insert it is more trim than anything else I've tried. Go for hemp or bamboo inserts and you will get the absorbancy without the bulk of MF.

I know they used to, but now that she has updated the prints I think she only offers 12 packs as the smallest, but I will double check :-)

  • We only have trim diapers for daytime use: GroVia AIO and BG Freetime AIO. We have Oh Katy pockets for naps which are also trim.
  • I have to agree with those who said FuzziBunz. They are definitely trim!

I just started, so take my word as you will.... I have a few Sunbabys and love them.  I got them all off of a Facebook page.  People buy them in bulk and then sell them individually.

  • Alvas are our slimmest/trimmest pocket diaper, if you LO has chunky thighs, the fit shouldn't really be an issue.

If you look on the second page of the size one's you have the option to buy 6 sunbaby's with or without inserts.

  • The trimmest diaper in our stash is the Itti Bitti.  The Tutto (OS) is quite trim, but runs smaller in the rise than most.  The D'Lish (AIO and SIO) sized fit super trim.  When there's a pair of pants I want DS to wear that is tight with his regular BGs, I put on an Itti Bitti and can get another few wears out.

Fuzzibunz are our LEAST trim diaper! Our BG 4.0's are much trimmer than the FB. Our flips are even trimmer with the microfiber insert.

  • Our Fuzzibunz perfect size medium pocket diapers with a hemp insert are super trim...comparable to a disposable really.

  • As far as OS dipes go, the FB elite is our trimmest diaper.  Followed by the grovia AI2.  Our actual trimmest diaper is the Swaddlebees simplex 2.0 sized diaper or the gdiaper.

Ditto previous posters that we never have to go up a size in clothes for our LO, and that hemp/bamboo options will be your trimmest.  We have replaced a lot of our MF inserts with the joey bunz premium hemp inserts, which make even bulky diapers like BG 4.0s fairly trim (although they are still sooo wide).

Bottombumpers & Swaddlebees Simplex are the trimmest diapers in our stash.  I like the simplex just a little more though.
