Yesterday, I had a biopsy done on a lump in my right breast that has not gone away with massage or heat (no fever, not painful). They used lidocaine and told me to dump everything from that breast for 24 hours.
Its been 21 hrs. The half-life looks like 2 hours, so after 4 or 5 HLs (or 10hrs), I'd think it should be fine. Also, I don't think the remaining 3 hours really will make a difference.
Besides, I'm tired of dumping it. It makes me sad every time I pour it down the drain.
Has anyone else had a biopsy and were given lidocaine? How quickly did you go back to BFing or using milk from the side with lidocaine?
Re: Crying over spilled (dumped) milk
I really dont drink bc I dont want to pump and dump, it just seems like a huge waste.
I hope everything goes well for ya mama. GL!
That is always a good excuse
Thanks. I'm just sad my right side produces 2x as much as my left.

TBH, I'm not too worried about it being anything bad. It was deep in the tissue so my midwife couldn't really feel how mobile it was, hence the ultrasound and follow-up biopsy. However, because my mother has ovarian cancer, I put a priority on anything strange.
Hope all is well!
I've cried over one ounce. One. So I get your pain
