whenever my mil gives my daughter clothes they don't fit. they are always too big and sometimes by the time she CAN fit into them they are out of the right season.
woman means well but she buys clothes ahead of time/cheaply and holds on to them and then gives them to us and then they dont work.
every dang time.
Re: you know what is annoying?
I feel your pain.
My MIL buys the size DS is wearing at the time she buys, then she holds onto said items until the season for said articles of clothing. By the time she gives them to him, he has long since outgrown them.
Even worse, she then blames me by saying, "you told me he was wearing X mos., so that's what I bought." Ya lady, but now it's 4 mos. later, and he's long out of that size!
At least she includes the receipts.
i even tried to nicely show her that something didnt fit at christmas and she was like ooooh it will be okay. uhh.
and of course those that do fit? are UGLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY.
Maybe I will be flamed for this... My gripe isn't really that my mother buys the wrong size, but that she buys most of the clothes at the dollar store. The quality really sucks. The fit is horrible and it gets worse after you wash them. When DD was first born, someone else bought us dollar store clothes and I had mentioned to my mom how the quality wasn't worth it. So since then, my mom still buys these items pretty frequently and she tells me each time, "I know it may only last one wear, but it was so cute that I had to buy it." So my first thought was to just say thank you, but goodwill the items. The cherry on top is that the woman asks me EVERY TIME she sees us why isn't DD wearing an outfit that she got her and asks if I ever let her wear the clothes that she bought. We went to the zoo a couple weeks ago and I put DD in a shirt that my mom bought her, to make my mom happy. The first thing out of my mom's mouth was, "Well why isn't she wearing the purple pants I bought her?" The woman will stop at nothing to find a reason to nag me.
I know, I know, it's the thought that counts and she just loves DD and is proud of the items she buys her. At least she cares.
