I am a FTM and we are deciding to try CD with our LO and I have a few questions. My DH and I went to a class this weekend and learned a lot. We're just trying to start our NB stash at this time. We were told to plan on 36 diapers. We want to do half pre folds and half AIO/prefolds to save some money.
We bought 5 Grovia NB AIO and 4 Fuzzibunz XS pockets. How many of the AIO/or pockets do you recommend?
For prefolds we were planning on 18-20 prefolds and 6 covers.
Any suggestions or advice would be great, thanks!
Re: Newborn stash-advice please
This is tough since NB diapers don't last very long as many kids grow out of them quickly. DH and I went exclusively with pockets and AIOs since we are new at cloth diapering and they are most like disposables. We have 12 and I doing laundry in the morning and afternoon since our stash is so small but I hate to buy more as she is already getting close to moving on to one size diapers.
So, I guess my answer is you are pretty good with AIOs. I would probably buy the predolds to round out your NB stash.

We have two dozen prefolds and five covers that currently fit her and we do laundry every other day. Usually we're cutting it close on running out, but we have always made it in time, including having time for sunning for stains. The covers that DH and I prefer hands down are the Thirsties Duo Wraps. They have the snap rise so they'll size up as she grows, and the leg gussets (along with the jelly roll fold) totally keep the poop in. We haven't had a single blowout (although obviously she's pretty young at two weeks old!). The covers we hated were the Prorap Classics. No laundry tabs or gussets.
Hey Beener! I didn't realize you were also from Michigan. I'm a couple hours away from you in Bay City.
