Ds has some gross motor delays but has been making amazing progress and the other day in PT he took his first steps and went about 6 feet on his own! Of course at home he hasn't really done it yet again, but he tends to take a bit more time with physical milestones anyway. Still, I'm curious how long it was from when your LO started taking a few steps between things to really walking on their own. Thanks!
Re: How long from first steps to walking?
4-6 weeks, I think it depends on if they have been crawling for a while, they take a little longer to be convinced that walking is easier, faster and also to gain confidence. You can encourage, him. My friend's 14 month old only walks when DD is around bc shes doing it.
It took DS 3 weeks to go from steps to full blown walking, but he was only 10.5 months old.
DD went from steps to full blown walking in 2 days, but she was 14 months old.
1 month for us. first steps at 9.5 months and full blow walking at 10.5 months
Charlotte Ella 07.16.10
Emmeline Grace 03.27.13
3-4 weeks. DD took her first steps a little after she turned 11 months and just after her 1st bday she was a full time walker.
She started full blown running pretty quickly too.
