It's Infertility Awareness Week

Here is my status this morning on fb:

Today is the first day of Infertility Awareness Week. Infertility is a disease that affects 1 in 8 couples....including us.

I'm thankful for my little miracle, hoping for more in the future, and thinking about all of the couples who are waiting for their turn.

Thinking of you all and praying that you get your turn soon.

Anyone else putting statuses up?

Thank you so much for this!  Every time this week comes I think I should put up a status... and then I don't because I'm chicken.  BUT with pregnancy and infant loss awareness day I did post something in honor of my boys, so maybe I can branch out and do this now that the cat is sort of out of the bag.

Today marks the start of National Inferility Awareness Week (NIAW). Your infertile loved ones need your emotional support during this journey. Most people don't know what to say, so they wind up saying the ?wrong? thing, which only makes the journey so much harder for their loved ones. Knowing what not to say is half of the battle to providing support. Here's my FB status this morning: " Today begins National Infertility Awareness Week. The odds are that you or someone you know is struggling to have a baby since that includes more than 7,000,000 couples of childbearing age. (You know me, don't you?!) Don't ignore it - here's how you can help them handle it. https://bit.ly/a7Kf8F"  I also blogged about it - link below.

  • I posted this:

It's national infertility awareness week! Earlier this year you may have seen me posting for a petition to get Infertility covered by insurances. I've made this video to give people an insight into what many of us dealing with out of pocket infertility costs deal with. Infertility effects one in eight couples, so no matter if people are open about it or not, chances are you know many who are going through it or have gone through it.  (And then linked the video below).

I will be doing a post a day, but saving the second video I made for later in the week.  But  since I did so many "facts and figures" last year, this year I am trying to have a more emotional appeal to it but have not mapped out the week as I had last year.  I may repeat a day or two that I did last year.
