Morning sickness?

I don't have what I suppose would be called morning sickness...yet. I do get a bit queasy in the morning if I don't eat right away. When did you all start with morning sickness? Or did it come at all? I'm prepared but I just want to know if I'm in for it!!

Re: Morning sickness?

  • With my first it didn't start til 7 weeks. This time around has been much worse, starting around 4.5 weeks. Everyone's different. Some get it sooner or later, some don't get it at all. Hth :)

  • Weeks 6-8 were the worst for me but I've been feeling better the past couple days. I hope it stays that way!

  • I have felt randomly queasy (especially in the morning if I don't eat some dry cereal or saltines right away) since the day I got BFP. But I would say my true morning sickness (more intense nausea and random feeling of having to vomit and true food aversions) didn't start until this week. I am currently 7w4d.

  • for me it started around 6 weeks, just nausea and lost of appetite, then at 8 weeks it got a million times worst. this week the vomiting let up a little and today I have no nausea at all and my appetite is picking back up. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's starting to let up. Good luck to you.

  • With my first one, my son it was from week four till about week 10, i actually lost weight at first.  With my second, my daughter i had it allot longer and with this one it is every morning at the same time (usually when i am on the way to work) but then it is random the rest of the time!!

  • With my first I just felt sick on and off each day for the entire first trimester. I never actually 'got' sick which I feel would of felt better at the time! same is happening right now. Feel sick but not actually getting sick! ugh I feel blah.

  • You're still pretty early to get m/s. It hit me in the middle of 5 weeks and by 6 weeks it turned into hyperemisis.

  • I'd feel a little queasy with an empty stomach (especially first thing in the morning) pretty early on, then around 5 weeks I started feeling queasy more often than not and actually throwing up occasionally.  This persisted through about halfway through 8 weeks, and then the nausea was less strong for about a week, and then it's resumed again.

For me, trying to eat a little something (nibbling on salty things like crackers or salted roasted almonds) tends to help ease the general queasiness, and sipping drinks rather than swallowing a lot at once.  Hopefully you'll find what tactics help you feel a little better when stronger nausea kicks in. :)

  • I have been sick since week 4-5. Yesterday & today have been my worst days & if I could just throw-up....ah, the bliss!! I am so ready for this part to be over with, so I can enjoy my pregnancy!!

  • With my first I had no morning sickness, just smelling meat cook made me queasy.  With my second I had horrible nausea all day long from 6 to about 12 weeks.  This time (knocking on wood), I'm about 8 weeks and only get slightly queasy seeing some foods.  It's weird, I have two toddlers, so we eat McDonalds breakfast at least twice a month and now I can't even think of it.  The thought of any McDonalds food grosses me out.  All pregnancies are different because by the end of my last two pregnancies I was eating Big Macs at least once a week!
  • You never know. In my first pregnancy I had to eat first thing every morning throughout the entire pregnancy even though I only had morning sickness in the first trimester. I don't think what you're experiencing alone means you are going to get morning sickness. Hopefully you avoid it altogether!
