last of big ticket items

We took our returns/exchanges and our gift cards to BRU today and bought the last of the big ticket items for awhile (until we need a high chair). We got a second car seat base, two baby gates, and an Evenflo exersaucer for $250. It feels pretty awesome to buy things for LO. I think over the next 8 weeks we can finish buying the little things that I wanted/needed to get him w/o problem.

    I'm so jealous! So far we have a swing, crib, and changing table, but that's about it! I still need quite a few big items such as a breast pump, baby mattress, stroller, and car seat! I get sick just thinking about how much there is left to spend. I'm hoping I get some things as gifts at my baby shower or at least money I can put towards it!

    We have been really fortunate. My parents bought almost all of the furniture; all we got was the bookcase (from Staples on sale). We got the swing and pack-n-play from Amazon when we had a little extra money around Christmas the Amazon prices were better than BRU. I got a breast pump from a coworker who never used hers for $50. The stoller/car seat we (sadly) had bought for my first pregnancy that ended in m/c so the expense was over a yr ago.

    I can suggest that if you know someone w/ a Sams club membership, look there for some baby items. They even ship to the store for free to pick up if you need to order it online instead of in the store. The prices are good.

    We got the last of the 'if we don't have it when we get home it will be bad' items today.  We have our stroller, carseat, furniture and everything... today I picked up a few bottles (just incase we need them), her changing table pad, and some odds and ends we didn't have.

    I feel so much better that all of that is done!

    I have my shower today so I am excited to see what we get. I took tomorrow off so I can go through all the gifts and see what will still need to be purchased before baby comes. I can't wait!!

    Thankfully most of our big ticket items are already purchased. We have all of her furniture, stroller, carseat, high chair, excersaucer, pack n play, and swing. His parents plan to purchase a breast pump for us too. We received one large item that we registered for but never expected to get (baby Bjorn) and I think we are going to return it to buy some items that we still need. I have one more shower to go so after that is over we will take all of our returns back and pick up the things we still need. Baby girl NEEDS clothes, we don't have much. She also needs diapers and toiletries. We will see what the next shower brings in.
