I came on here to ask this, then saw the sudden influx of sleep questions. I apologize for the redundant topic, but I haven't seen this particular question answered anywhere.
We did sleep training several months ago and LO has been going to bed in his own crib no problem. We put him to bed drowsy but awake and it actually worked. Occasionally he'd fuss for a few minutes and fall asleep.
In the past few weeks he discovered he can move from laying on his belly to sitting. Since this development, the moment we put him down he pops right back up into sitting (either smiling wanting to play or crying wanting to sleep). When he's crying in the middle of the night, I go into his room to find him sitting up. The problem is he doesn't seem to grasp how to lay back down.
Has anyone else experienced this? What have you done? We've taken to patting his bottom to get back to sleep which generally takes quite a while and he doesn't sleep as long. He cannot be rocked, bounced, or held. The few times we've brought him to bed with us he does the same thing.

Re: Belly to Bottom in 2 seconds... Another sleep question!
Yeah. I give it 10 minutes. I'm too faint hearted for all out CIO, but 9 times out of 10 she's back to bed in 10 minutes.
