we were in the office about 30 mins from paperwork to finish. the first thing the Dr said was - I can't tell you if its a boy or girl, so don't ask! GL!
Mine was at the hospital so I was there about an hour with 30 minutes being admissions. The ultrasound lasted 15-20 minutes with some done by the u/s tech and some done by the doctor. Then I got my finger pricked and that was all.
Oh and there was no guessing boy/girl. The baby wasn't being very cooperative and didn't want to move at all. All we got were profile pictures. I'm not sure if they would guess if they could have through.
Depends on how cooperative the baby is. DD was VERY uncooperative and we were there for 1.5 hrs (and I still had to go back 2 days later to finally get the pics she needed). She tried to make a guess but one u/s she thought girl and the next one she thought boy. So much for that.
I was there about 35 minutes. They did the scan and pricked my finger. The Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctor did mine and she told me that in the 2 years she has been doing the NT Scan's she hasn't ever been wrong on determining the sex but she said she still has to say that she is 95% sure. She determines by measuring the angle of the genitals to the spine. She has done 2 people that I know personally and they were both right. I guess it all depends on the person performing and the cooperation of the baby. GL!

I just got back from mine. I didn't ask about sex, but they told me they would tell me at my 16 week ultrasound on Dec. 23rd. The actual ultrasound only took about 5 minutes today. I gave blood, peed in a cup and talked to the Dr. I was pretty excited, she does a 16 week ultrasound and a 20 week one. Can't wait! Good lucK!
I had the ultrasound for about a hour..The baby was all over the place...I was 13 weeks and 2 days they said there would lean towards a boy but wouldnt count on it
we were told 90% boy at our NTS with DS - and confirmed at 20w correct.
another friend of mine got a full on twig and berries shot at the end of 12w...it was right.
i wouldn't 100% trust it- save any receipts for anythign you buy if they do tell you b/c sometimes it isn't right... but if they get a good shot a good tech can make a pretty good guess.
enjoy the US - it's a fun one- first time baby REALLY looks like a baby!
Re: Those that have had a NT scan....
I've had a few friends find out the sex at the NT scan, and all were correct.
The sonographer at my OBs office told me if you have the NT scan closer to the 13 week mark, they might be able to tell you the gender.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
