Considering switching MWs. WWYD? Long
I've been with my MF since I first found out I was pregnant. Since that time, I've had 3 prenatal visits with them (one nurse midwife and two apprentices). I'm having some trust issues lately and I'm wondering if I should discuss these issues with them in the hopes of a resolution or if these are clear signs to run.
I was 8 weeks along when I noticed some blood on the medicine applicator for Monistat. TMI, I apologize. Since this is my first pregnancy, I immediately called my best friend while Googling through tears. I called the MW the next day for an appointment. She got me in two weeks later and I told her about the blood. By that time, it had turned into spotting. Nothing major, just noticed it when I wiped. She put on a puzzled expression (mind you, this woman is a nurse) and asked what color the secretion was, etc. You'd think I had asked the woman a question about quantum physics. She had no clue and offered me no theories. I was left to speculate that it was just bleeding caused by the yeast infection. Since then, the bleeding has resolved.
Fast forward to the next visit, visit #2. By this time, I had developed a nasty rash. It started on my chest, spread to my entire back, sides and front of neck and abdomen. It it itchy, painful and unsightly. I mentioned the rash to them and then lowered the top hem on my shirt so they could see it. Again, puzzled look with no idea what could be going on. I had already Googled and knew that there were rashes specific to pregnancy. If anyone should know what a pregnancy rash looks like, a MW should. Finally, one of the apprentices suggested an oatmeal bath. Major side eye. I ended up getting an appointment with a dermatologist who gave me a spray to try (it hasn't worked) with assurance that it would clear up after I give birth.
During visit #2, I had to have my blood drawn again because I was informed that the testing lab had lost the blood. The woman who drew my blood literally hurt me by digging around in my arm before finding the vein. This woman has no medical certifications whatsoever. She's one of the apprentices. Am I wrong in thinking that this is wrong? Doesn't phlebotomy exist as a designation for a reason?
Those are my bugaboos. I wanted to go the natural birth route but not have my medical needs completely ignored. I feel as though they are sacrificing me for their own crunchy ideals. I don't trust these women and I think this is my sign to look elsewhere for service. What would you do?

I would start looking around for a new MW, if only bc it seems like you've lost confidence in their abilities. Having to google things bc your MW doesn't have a clue isn't good!
Also, be aware that the MWs at my OB office do not attend births. Only the OBs deliver babies, so be sure to ask if you decide to switch and you're hoping to deliver with a MW. GL!!
