Cloth Diapering

is there a down side to BG AIOs?

I assume they might take slightly longer to dry? Any other downsides? Do you find them that much better than 4.0s?

  • I'm a newb so I can't give real facts, but I asked a similar question not long ago.

    This may help a little.

  • Are we talking about the elementals or the discontinued AIOs?

FTR, my kid started peeing out of the M AIOs at around 9 months (with no added absorbency. She's now just started peeing out of the Elementals, and there's no way to add absorbency except by laying in the doubler.

  • try the bumgenius freetimes... they are a semi attached AIO and I believe you can add extra layers for heavy wetters.

I wondered if you could add absorbency to the elementals. Have you tried just laying them in? Does it work just laying them in wondering how well they stay in place like that?

  • The microfiber is sewn in to the AIOs. So if you start getting microfiber stink... well, too bad.

Whereas if you start getting microfiber stink with the pockets, you can just swap out the microfiber inserts for something else.

Mommy to DD1 (June 2007), DS (January 2010), DD2 (July 2012), and The Next One (EDD 3/31/2015)

  • They take FOREVER to dry.  Longer than my Thirsties Duo AIO, which are one of the longest IMO!

You can lay a hemp or a bamboo under the cotton in a size small or newborn - but the soaker is too small and narrow for any kind of microfiber coverage.  It's not a bad diaper, but could have been designed better IMO.

  • Actually out of my BG, GroVia, Swaddlebees and Thirsties AIO's they dry the fastest. I do thing they are more bulky on a small baby though, DD is 10wks and they give her a super bum ;)
