in 2nd Trimester

I am pretty certain I am getting a UTI. Last time I had one (pre-pregs), it got bad pretty quickly and I had to go to the ER to be treated for a massive kidney infection and spent the night hooked up to a IV. 

I already called the doctor's office and they are prescribing me something. I can't pick it up immediately though, so in the meantime, I have Cystex. Does anyone know if it's safe to use? I remembered that I had it AFTER i spoke to a doctor. 

 I just want this pain and discomfort to go away.. sigh.

    Last time, I was told to use it during my second trimester by my OB. They were less thrilled when I used it again at the end of my pregnancy (last three days) because they didn't want me using it that late. I was also told to drink cranberry juice or take cranberry pills (I hate the juice, so I asked if I could). I'm very, very sorry and hope you get better quickly.

    I have had a UTI twice during this pregnancy.  I first took macrobid and then took Keflex.  They are both category B drugs.

    ~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

    Can Cystex? be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding?

    We do not encourage taking Cystex or any medication, either over-the-counter or prescription while you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless you absolutely need it and your doctor okays it.

    Cranberry Juice can PREVENT but NOT CURE UTIs. It's better if it is part of your regular diet. It's pretty useless once you already have a UTI. Google the name of your pills and look around to see what Pregnancy Cat. they are. :)

     

    Hopefully you can get the prescription filled soon.
