I just got back from a Katie Beckett workshop.

Oh my...could they make it any more complicated??

    We don't have that in Virginia (lord I wish we did because M is racking up the medical bills!) but we have other waivers and they are really confusing too.  Even some people I spoke with at social services don't have a clue about them.

    Kudos to you for going through a workshop! 

    DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

    DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

  • i know, i've even talked to people here in MD and for us there is no winning situation.  it's ridiculous that the disabled children of working individuals basically get no other assistance.  don't even get me started on it!
  • Sorry that some of your states don't have help :(

    The good news is, with LA being 100% NPO, she should easily qualify under "nursing" and her therapy needs will just back it up.

    It is such a major PITA--I just keep reminding myself that it will be worth it in the end (must keep repeating!!!)
