Ummm.....my baby is a BOY!

Today in the grocery store this elderly man walked right up to my stroller and said "what a beautiful little girl" I slowly turned around and said "no it's a boy".  He then got even closer to LO (who has a thing about personal space) and said "oh bless HIS heart" All I could do was giggle and pray that this man did not DRIVE himself to the store.  LO doesn't look anything like a girl and he had on blue and grey.  Ha ha ha

  • Michaela has her ears pierced and thanks to everyone in my family who hates me, she owns more pink than the Disney princesses combined and people still comment of what a "handsome young man I have." I think people are stupid;)

  • I got that just yesterday. DD had a pigtail and clips in her hair, but this elderly woman at the grocery store kept saying "he", even after I kept saying "she". She finally asked for DD's name, and when I told her, she had that "WTF that is a girl's name" look on her face for a split second, then she went "Ohhhhhhh but you're a girl!" and then she apologized.

It doesn't bother me so much because at this age, most babies don't really look like one gender in particular.

  • Haha people are so weird! My DD wears a pink helmet abd an elderly gentleman referred to her as a "tiny, cute little guy" in the grocery store the other day. Um....helllo?

  • I dress DD in girl colors/clothes all the time. There have been a few times someone has called her a he when she plainly is wearing girl clothing.

In fact, I was at the bank with DD earlier this week and some old lady was making these very annoying clicking noises to her and kept saying how cute "he" is and oh it must time for "his" nap. DD was wearing purple and was sucking on a purple pacifier. Open up your eyes lady!

I didn't correct the old bag, but next time someone calls DD a boy I think it's time to correct them.

  • This just happened to me!

I was getting DD out of the vehicle and these 2 men walked by and one said, "Hey look at that lil guy!" I said "Its a girl" He replied, "Same thing." So I said, "Actually the plumbing is completely different!" The guy laughed and asked her name, told me is was a cute little name, spelt it correctly for me, then told me he liked her chubby cheeks and to have a great day. Bizarre.

  • My LO was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and navy blue shorts, and I had him in a blue Ergo...and a woman told me the other day "aww, she's so cute!"  I think it's like with dogs...how most people typically will refer to all dogs as she...some people just asign a sex to all babies based on their own life experiences or something (having been mostly around that sex of baby, or their own child is that sex, etc).  Because seriously, this woman was like 25 and completely with it, and there was nothing about my son that looked girly.

It really doesn't bother me though.
