1st Trimester

needing encouragement

okay ladies, i just need to vent a little. i'm 9 weeks along and exhausted every day! i don't keep up with my house the way i used to ( i work full time) and i don't ever want to make dinner, or walk my dog. my husband doesn't complain but i feel so guilty! i know in a few more weeks the tiredness should pass, but i just feel like a fat, lazy lump. =( how are you all motivating yourselves to keep up with everyday things and exercising?

Re: needing encouragement

  • I hear ya! Today was the first day I had off in a long time where I didn't have to work or run a thousand errands. Needless to say, I didn't do anything! I've also been really nauseated and pukey with all-day sickness... hoping it goes away soon! My house is also a disaster and I don't remember the last time I made dinner. It is frustrating, but hopefully once this stage goes away, we'll start "nesting" and have mounds of energy to do all sorts of things. My husband has been super supportive and helpful. If yours isn't complaining, I'm sure he understands and just wishes he could do more to help you. The first trimester is the hardest!

  • I'm STILL exhausted all the time...my husband hasn't really bugged me about it. I feel bad too. Just remember that building a human is TOUGH WORK! lol :)

Try getting up in the morning and working out right away. I find that helps to keep me motivated throughout the entire day.

  • The important thing right now is for you to listen to your body.  The house and stuff can wait, it will still be there when you have some energy back.  I feel the exact same way.  It's just been in the past week or so that I feel a tiny bit more energy.  Fortunately, I also have a husband who doesn't complain and is okay taking care of me.  Just take this time to take care of yourself, your body is doing a lot of work right now.  You'll get more energy back soon!
  • I had this thought today. I got home from work at 2:30 and have sat on the same spot on the couch since I arrived home. I am normally more go getter and energetic but this pregnancy has just taken all of my get up and go. I can't wait for 2nd tri when my energy will come back

  • I'm frustrated by this too! I have a crap ton of yard work and gardening to do... I have an active little 2 year old to take care of all day... and the house work is never ending. I can usually keep up with it OK but I have lost all motivation!

My confession for the day: I let DD watch 30 minutes of TV this morning and another 30 minute show this afternoon. TV is usually reserved for a super special treat, but I totally needed a break today. I think I'm going to be caving on the TV thing a lot more often :(

  • I hear you and I have 2 little ones to take care of. I feel Terrible  because my patience with them has not been the greatest.  Just waiting for that 13 week mark for me to come so I can start to be productive again!

  • I'm not. And I don't care. Growing a baby is really hard work. My wonderful husband has been picking up the slack and my family has been sending meals over so we don't have to cook. I'm just resting as much as I can and my husband is supporting me. I try to walk at work, but when I get home I just sleep.
