Im almost 7 months out and its summer and my stomach still screams "I just had a baby".. Ive lost all my baby weight but that pooch is stubborn. When were you close to normal?
Everyone is different but I had DS 5 years ago and while my stomach shrunk and it looked flat under clothes I still have that pooch and excess skin. I worked out, dieted, used creams, everything I could think of and it never went away completely. After this baby I'm getting my tubes tied and a tummy tuck because my body apparently doesn't bounce back well at all. Everyone is different though and some women I know go back to prepregnancy tummy within a year. But if it doesn't happen for you just know it is normal for your body to just be stubborn. It sucks and I hope yours isn't like mine!!
I will add that DS was just over 10lbs so I think maybe my skin got stretched WAY too much, maybe it had nothing to do with the c-section.
Even after losing baby weight +10lb my belly still didn't look the same. Partially because when I was pg my DS sat mostly on my left side so that side of my belly was stretched farther. THEN when they did the c/s the OB didn't make a big enough incision so they extended it on the left to get the baby out. Soooooo when I look @ my belly in the mirror you can see that the scar on the right half is perfect and sags down and to the left a little. There is scar tissue on the left side and a spot the size of like maybe a deck of cards that is numb.
All that being said I wore a tankini last summer that I got from Old Navy and it didn't look terrible. Between the stretchies and the flab there was no way on God's green Earth that I'd be caught in a bikini and I wasn't comfortable with the way my belly looked to even wear a one piece. The tankini hit just the right places to create an optical illusion that my belly wasn't a total trainwreck, lol!
Around months 8-10 post partum, i worked out a lot and lost 18 pounds. I was skinny all over but still had the "shelf". While my stomach was significantly less noticeable in clothes, it still never was flat again. The pooch remained in some form until i got pregnant again
I was wearing my pre preg clothes at about 1 and a half months after, now at three months you couldn't even tell I had a baby. The weight came off really fast and belly shrunk for the first month, then it slowed down the next month and now it's coming off fast again, but I've had zero appetite so I've been taking a lot of vitamins. I confess I still wear maternity jeans sometimes just because they are the most comfortable things in the world
JK. Seriously though 7 months out and it's still as flabby as it was at a month PP. The c/s hangover doesn't help either. I lost weight while I was pregnant and have lost about 37 more lbs since and I still have the gut.

Wait, it's supposed to go back to normal?
