Anyone has the Target Be-Band?

Planning to go to Target to get one today.  I read the reviews on Target's website and they range from 1* to 5*.  Wonder what's your experience has been so far?  It'll also help if you post what size you normally wear and what size of be band you got.

I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet.  Most of my pants don't button anymore and I'm hoping the be band can last me for a little while before I have time to buy maternity clothes?  I'm only in my 12th week BTW.

TIA!

Re: Anyone has the Target Be-Band?

  • I have one.  Don't know the size off hand but just read the sizing on the back of the package and followed what they recommended.

Honestly, I like my band from Motherhood Maternity better, and if I remember correct the price was very similar.  My Target one rolls up, but I have no complaints against my MM one.  Not sure what the difference is, they look pretty much the same. Confused

  • I had one that I used with my first pregnancy.  I think I got the S/M and I usually wear a size4-6.  I wore it from around week 9-16 before I bought maternity clothes.  This time I tried it, but it seemed to be more uncomfortable (maybe I'm just a different shape this time).  I already had maternity clothes, so I just switched to them early on rather than using the BeBand.  I think I also used it post-pregnancy for a few weeks before I could fit into my regular clothes again.

  • I bought one...I am usually a 0 so I'm pretty sure I got the small.  I HATED it..super uncomfy and it rolled up.  I ended up taking it back and buying two maternity pants from old navy with the smooth panel, which is good for all 3 trimesters. The pants not only make me feel sooo much more comfortable and less restricted, but are also much more flattering to my belly.  They actually help with making belly look like more of a rounded bump and less like I had one too many milkshakes.  HTH!

  • I have one, and I'd probably rate it 2.5. It is really good for smoothing out the bulges left by unbuttoned pants, but it doesnt really hold anthing up. I feel vulnerable when I wear it, and prefer my maternity pants. But it is great for covering my backside when I bend over in the classroom.

  • I have both the Be-Band (from 1st pregnancy) and the BellaBand (bought for this pregnancy).  I personally think that the BellaBand from Ingrid & Isabel is much better.

The coverage is better, it pulls down and stays down over the backside of the pants and I don't fidget with it at all.  It seems like I was always having to fidget with the Be-Band some how.  I'm much happier with this one!

  • I have one and I love it. I was a size 2-4 before and I got the small be-band it has worked great with my jeans and work pants.
  • I have one (M/L I think) and it is okay.  It does help to hold up the pants I can't button, but it does roll up and I have to adjust it everytime I stand up.  It gets annoying at times.

  • I've got one. I got the M/L size. The package recommends what size you should get based on your pants size. My pants size is b/t a 6 and 8 so it said go with S/M but it said to go up a size if you're expecting multiples so that's why I got the M/L.

It's come in very handy! At first I just couldn't button my pants but now I can't even zip them and it covers everything nicely.

  • My friend gave me one--size M/L I believe (I'm a size 10 in jeans) and it constantly rolls up. I finally got some maternity jeans on consignment so I don't think I'll be needing it anymore

  • I have two and I like them fine, although I think maternity pants are more comfortable.  The key to making the BeBand work is to fold it over your pants: (1) put the band on first, with the middle of the band where you want the top of your pants to be; (2) pull your pants on over the band; and (3) fold the top half of the band over the top of your pants.  That's what I did and I never had any problems with the band moving around or riding up or anything.

  • I'm wearing one right now, actually.  I'm a size 8-10 and am in the S/M.  I agree with other posts about it rolling up...but I don't think that bothers me too much, really.  I work in an office, so I'm not in and out of my chair too often, so it's not too much of a hassle to fix the band if it moves.  It's more of a pain to maneuver one when you are constantly running to pee, but that's going to happen with any brand.  I have consistently read, however, that other more expensive bands work better...I just haven't tried them.

I will agree with the post that said that they don't seem to hold pants up too well.  I have some jeans that are higher on my hips and others that ride lower -- The band only works well for me with jeans that ride higher on me (like at or just below my belly-button versus down on my hips) because they don't really need to be held up if unbuttoned like lower-rise jeans do.

Still, I don't regret my purchase...

  • I have one, size small. I normally wear size 6. I like it. I have to adjust it occasionally because it rides up, but overall for the price it works.

I've totally been doing it wrong!

    Dumbass, party of one.

  • I just got one this week.  I bought a S/M and I typically wear a size 0-2.  I'm hoping it'll help me through the next few weeks until I cave and buy maternity pants.  I find it very comfortable and I'd rate it about a 4. Once I get it placed right, I haven't had problems with my pants falling down or the band riding up.  It does take some adjusting at first and it takes a lot longer to put everything back in place after a bathroom break, but for $17, it's cheaper than maternity pants for now!

btw, Paisley4140 gave a great instruction on how to use it!

Agreed.  I love my band from Motherhood Maternity.  They are really only like $5 more but so worth it!

  • I have the BeBand from Target! I love it! Its so helpful!!!!

  • I have one, can't remember what size (followed the chart).  I am normally a size 6, think I went with Small.  I think it is pretty much worthless.  Any time I have worn it I spend the whole day tugging it into place and adjusting.

  • Thank you for all your replies!

I ended up buying one at Target yesterday; haven't opened it yet.

BUT - I'm browsing on the Nov 2012 board this AM and there's a PSA about a sale on Ingrid & Isabel's website for their organic bella band at 50% off!  So, I just bought 2 (there's an additional promo code for 10% off) and the total is $32 inclu shipping.  I think I'm going to return the Target one, even though it is also made by Ingrid & Isabel.  I am guessing that the ones they make for Target may be of a lesser quality? In any case, the organic bella band with the discounts comes out cheaper than the Be band.
