Success after IF

AW: Is it still April 19th? (PIPs)

Good, because otherwise I'd fail at being mama to a younger sibling!

The same things that made the week of April 19th wild two years ago make it wild this week.  I had had my first likely-legit BFP three days earlier on a Friday before going to DH's college reunion that weekend, and I took more HPTs that weekend, but I had to wait until that Monday for my first beta.  And later that Monday, just 2-3 hours after getting the big phone call, I had to volunteer at my organization's annual Rummage Sale, which is where I've spent the last 5 hours tonight.  And all of that's leaving out the annual film festival that's this week too!  At least I remembered to take a photo of her today -- it was a close call before I left home this afternoon.  Admittedly the BFP anniversary photos I took of Kira at ~16 and ~28 months were very last minute as well.  And now I'm off to pack for my college reunion tomorrow...no HPTs going with me this time though. ;-)

Thankfully BFP anniversaries are just for mama -- and her friends! -- anyway. :)

Thanks for letting me not fail my younger child!  Love you!!!

ETA: I was 8.5 weeks pg with Kira at my reunion 5 years ago, and 4 weeks pg with Elena at DH's reunion 2 years ago.  It'll be my first reunion in 7 years a) that I won't be keeping a big secret, and b) that I'll get my money's worth. ;-)

  • I adore this post!
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • Wow, not bad for a last-minute photo. Not bad at all! Your girls are absolutely beautiful, and I love that you memorialize your BFP days. :)

    Enjoy your reunion!

  • Oh my goodness -- I love these posts!  I can't believe what a little GIRL Elena has become!  When I met her last year, she was all cuddly baby.  Now she is a big kid!  And beautiful, of course!

Ditto this! Each year I stop on September 5 and remember getting that phone call from my RE with the positive beta news, but I love how you do photos.

  • Thanks so much, friends!  The reunion was fantastic and the girls did great.  I decided to bail on the closing film of the film festival tonight -- I'll be gone the next four evenings (normal stuff ;-)) and I'm looking forward to a quiet night at home.  Thanks once again!
